Real-time passenger information and safety are critical aspects of modern railway systems. Traditional railway systems rely on manual announcements and limited automation, which may lead to inaccurate station updates and delayed safety responses. This paper presents the design and implementation of an IoT-based station name and distance indicator system integrated with multiple safety sensors for smart railway applications. The proposed system utilizes a microcontroller-based embedded platform integrated with GPS, fire, smoke, and water level sensors to provide real-time station information, distance to the next station, and enhanced passenger safety. The system displays station names and distance metrics on an LCD module and provides automated alerts in emergency conditions. Experimental results demonstrate improved accuracy, reduced human dependency, and enhanced safety, making the proposed system suitable for smart railway environments.
